Magnetic monopole
MLegendaryHypothetical: never detected, game threshold is fictional
Fact from the codex
Hypothetical: a single magnetic north or south pole. Dirac showed in 1931 that a monopole would explain why electric charge comes only in fixed portions. Because of its enormous ionisation it would leave an unusually thick track. Never observed.
Professor Quark says
“A magnetic monopole: a north pole without a south pole. Break a magnet and you just get two magnets. Dirac showed in 1931 that a single one would explain why electric charge comes in fixed portions. Nobody has ever seen one.”
