SMythicHypothetical: never detected, game threshold is fictional
Fact from the codex
Hypothetical (predicted by theory, never observed): not a kind of particle but a saddle point of the electroweak field at about 9 TeV. A sphaleron would violate baryon and lepton number and could explain how a surplus of matter arose in the early universe. At today's energies its rate would be vanishingly small.
Professor Quark says
“A sphaleron – not a particle but a transition in the weak-force field that treats matter and antimatter unequally. It may explain why anything was left at all. Greek: “ready to fall”. Hypothetical.”
